Expertise – American Indian and Alaska Native Affairs

American Indian and Alaska Native Affairs

Indigenous peoples pursuing survival, sovereignty and self-determination inevitably must engage with the United States government.  Whether it be to regain title and control over tribal lands, pursue federal funding to support tribal government programs, to reform federal law to expand tribal economies, or to expand economic opportunities for Alaska Native Corporations, American officials must act to reverse the effects of colonization.  Our role is to develop and advocate for winning strategies to persuade American officials to address your concerns.

Our American Indian and Alaska Native Affairs team is co-led by Robert Odawi Porter, a former President of the Seneca Nation of Indians, and Todd Bertoson, former senior staff for Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska.
